Board of Directors’ Responsibilities
Project 16:49’s Board of Directors provides the foresight, oversight and insight necessary to steer the organization towards a sustainable future. Board responsibilities include:
- Hiring and supporting the executive director.
- Adopting sound, ethical and legal governance and financial management policies.
- Adopting an annual budget.
- Ensuring Project 16:49 has adequate funds and other resources to support programming and advance its mission.
- Determining, monitoring and strengthening the organization’s programs and services.
- Advocating for the organization and the youth we serve.
- Leveraging connections, networks and resources to advance and achieve our mission.
- Raising awareness and support for the organization in the community.
- Recruiting and orienting new board members, and assessing board performance.
